Oli - Moli

This week,on Monday 6th,Olivia asked her first official WHY question me. At the playground she has been playing in the sand pool,digging sands with her fingers and holding them for a while on her fingers and opening fingers slowly letting them running through her fingers and watchin them carefully .After a long time repeating this process and watching it ovr and over she said "Mommy?"said instantly.
"Mommy.WHY we have 5 fingers???"

I froze. Is there anything stange with it .May be no.Every children throughout their chlidhoog are asking such questions -wright?
But I froze for a few minutes.Because I have always been thinking how to answers Olivia's Why questions(when the time comes) because I really found them challenging.
After I melt back quickly tought and said
" Because (long one to have somemore time:-)) ,having 5 fingers helps us to grap objects much better.Look some of them long and some of them shorter .They al designed for that purpose'

In order to make sure if I passed the exam I asked softly:
"Does it make sense Olivia?
She said " Sure "softly too, without looking at me and being very busy with the sand .

I was very proud of myself .She repeated my answer to couple of times later saying
"We have 5 fingers because it helps us to grap objects nicely":-))



I couldn't help thinking how my little baby snuggling on my arms looking for nothing else but mommy's milk became this big and questioning the existence. She is 29 months old now and for the last few months she is becoming a child than a toddler.
I feel great when she says: "Mommy,I want to be like you ".

Dilek send a package on her name.She was very surprized when she eard the postman is asking for Olivia Seremet.On the phone she said :"Thank you Dilek for your gift"

Every afternoon she is walking to mailbox and checking if we have letter from Dilek.She is pretending that we have letters from Dilek. She wants me to ask her if we have any .And she responds that I have 2( Sometimes 3-4-5:-)) letters from her and delivering them to me.I am reading pretend letters like:Dear Olivia .....-)) She loves to listen.
