NEW YEAR INTERVIEW WITH OLI

Me:Olivia tomorrow is the first day of the new year.Do you know that?

Oli:Yes,I know (good:-))

Me:What are you going to do in new year?Do you have plans?

Oli:Yes,I have plans ( I Didn't know that ?????)

Me:What are your plans? Could you tell me?

Oli:I dance ,dance like Giselle (the balet she is watching in youtb :-))

I sing

See lights (I guess refering to christmas decoration on the streets and houses)

I play

I loved her plans!!!

Olivia has not been watching TV since she was born .We have one at home (as you may guess:-))but most probabaly she thinks it is just a box :-)). We tried to keep it off while she is around and I guess we were pretty good in that.

The only watching is some nursery rymes and cartoon episodes on the computer.

She hasn't seen any destructive toys yet. Doesnt know the worg GUN yet.I avoid to use it.

Couple of days ago ,kids were playing with mashmallow guns at the street they told us to run away otherwise they'll shoot us. I asked them to give us some mashmallows to taste and they did.Olivia liked the taste of mashmallow and didn't even notice guns :-))

And asked me couple of thes "what was the name of the food that kids were playing with?":-))

If somebody (like us or kids at the playgroung ) gets hurt by hittingfalling down or bumping,she feels pretty sorry. She keeps talking about it a few days in row. She doesn't know yet that people are many times deliberetly hurting each other. They are killing each other.Wars are for that.

We keep telling her that she should't hurt anybody including animals and shouldn't let anybody to hurt herself. We will keep saying this and she will listen us .But I am not sure until when she will beleive in us??

Happy new year !!! IT is Olivia's 3rd new year celebration.

Sshhh !!! Let's be quite .Nala is sleeping!!

When I am writing this post Oli came and said" I am yawning,that's why I want to sleep(nap).I am tired.That's why my teeth are coming out of my mouth???.It is bothering:-))) .While sleeping we can read books and sleep at the same time.Can we??"

NALA came here by herself

We have a guest named NALA.Olivia has been very excited for her stay with us.She has been made naby plans for Nala:

I can read her my little gorilla book.
I can pet her ,hold her like Olivia does in the Olivia book.

Nala is a cat and will be with us for a couple of days.We brought her yesterday while Olivia has been assleep .When she woke up and sow Nala at home tought she came by herself and said :
"Nala came here by herself-good job Nala":-))

By the way for the new shoes that I have ordered online she thinks that the UPS guy bought it for Olivia as a gift:-))

By the way2--- While watching me cooking on the chair in the kitchen she said"Mimi could you push chair TOWARDS(using first time) the water(refering the sink) so that I can make dishes while you are cooking" :-)))) She is 26 months old ????

I am momy's and dady's baby.

This pictures taken early December.Olivia is carrying her sand toys in the plastic bag and on the second one thinking "How and where to get started-Not quite sure!!

Oli :She can do it by herself ( If you help her.she would cry by saying "by herself"

Oli: No I don't like saying ME ,I don't like saying by myself. I like herself

Oli:I was confused and said baby for the cat:-))

Oli:I forgot to put fire duck next to others .

At the playground today Olivia sow a plastic bag and said:

Oli:Momy this one(what is this?)

Me:It is plastic bag somebody must have it.

Oli:Can I throw it in the garbidge? ( I was impressed!!!)

Me:Yes sure .

Oli: Wait Mimi I will be back in 12 minutes(?????? by holding plastic back and threw it and came back)

Oli:I throwed it :-)))

Me:Good job

No it is not my turn!!!

Oli wanted me read books for her as usual in momy's and dady's bed and wanted me bring the book from her room and I did.Then she wanted to read another one and I mentioned that it is her turn and she asked for favor( In my understanding of course) by saying" Could you bring it Momy please?" and I did.

After couple of hours she grabbed her favorite book "little gorilla"and sat on the sofa and asked me to read it for her and I did she listened. Then she wanted to read "olivia book".Here you go:

Oli:Momy could you bring it please?
Me: Olivia it is your turn( I was refering the 2 times in row couple of hours ago :-)))-big mistake!!

Olivia attempted to get down of the sofa to grab the book from her room and suddenly stopped
and said:
"NO it is not my turn,it MOMY's turn.I bring gorilla book:-))))"

I was really impressed and proud about her and myself:-)).
Proud for her hoping she can always remember when it is her turn when not and remind the other party without hesitation
Proud for us that we managed to teach her to say NO when needed (Hope so!!!- or is it too early to make this conculusion yet)

Winter !!! and staying home

It feels like a winter for couple of days. It is around 55 F .After having lived in Chicago I can't beleive how fast we get used to south ca and thinking it is cold and winter for 55F.I would go out to the parks right away if it was 40+ up there. Yesterday w channel was showing 12 F there.

Olivia likes to stay at home and wants to have lots of reading and painting or playdough.Last week I found this PC's for her along with Mickey look and find book for toddlers.She loved them both. But her favorite character is Christopher Robin.She is eating her breakfast and lunch by looking at his picture on the books, talking to him. I would say almost living with him.

Reha said he is getting jealeous about Christopher Robin:-))

Few days ago she said:"Mimi,you are hugging me like Christopher Robin hugging Winnie de Pooh":-))

FIRST DRAWING :-))

For me this one her first meaningful drawing of Oli .She drew it when I asked to draw a face.Then converted it to a miyaww (she is still using it for cat :-))) and scratch it all :-)) I will be able to keep the picture only not the original :-)

She likes watching cilli bom-bom( hababam sinifi version) and Honki Ponki by Senay.While watching her very old TRT1 video on youtube she said"I CAN"T sing like this Lady" :-)).But definettly trying to . Another favorites are Quinn "love of my life"and Moon Shadow by Cat Stewens

Still napping almost 2 hours except the days when Dady home.She looks very excited when Reha home I think that's why can't .

Always with dog and bay(her favorite blankie)

Famous sleeping suit that she doesn't want to wear at night and doesn't want to take off in the moorning .The one with Orange Giraffe:-))

Momy DID!!

Olivia goes to bed between 7 pm to 10 pm depending on her nap time and duration. I give her a bath ( She likes to take a shower with Reha too) before or after dinner ,again depending on how hungary she is and also when the dinner would be ready.

Then she is having "surprize" at the coffee table or on the sofa with us. Surprize is sometimes a piece of choclate or ice cream,desert,fruit like pine apple etc .Most of the time she is helping me to preapare it and serving it. After that she is playing some more with me or Reha ,then brushing her teeth .

She is good at running to the bathroom taking her brush fom the cup and putting the paste on it. when I said "I am going to brush my teeth".Every time asking me "too much??" with a noughty smile and starting chewing.Yes she is not brushing but chewing the brush and sucking the paste. We are still using baby paste that can be swallowed.I am having hard time ti convince her to let me brush her teeth.I tell her that I am going to touch up.We have many touch up stories of course which includes the people that she knows .

Then she is giving us another hard time for not putting her sleeping suit on. If we can convince her to pick one and wear it ,then she is picking 4 books ( I think because this is the biggest number that she can sign with fingers and she likes doing it ) and we are reading them in "Momy's and dady's bed "

Then she starts nursing by holding the labels of her DOGGY ( actually it is a sheep but she has been calling her dog)and BAY (blankie).Finding their labels by "herself "is a big thing for her on these days.If you help her or if you find and give it to her ,she is getting really upset and starting again "herself" saying "Olivia Olivia "or "herself,herself"

Then sometimes she is nursing to sleep and I am carring her to the crip .Sometimes she says "I am done with meme" and I take her to the crip and she is protesting a little bit.Coming with ideas like"let's read ----- books"or saying"Mimi hold Oli".I am telling her that it is a bed time and she can go down and sleep by herself. She is asking by crying to kiss her or bring her water"COLD" or playing some night music.Then she is calling a few more times.Either me or Reha is going.She is asking for cold water again. "Ice, 2 ice" or wants us to chance the sippy cup like"green one "

Then another"more ice". She is being very polite and vulnarable ( I guees her voice and phareses sounds like).She is always asking with "Could you please put ice,2 ice" or "Dady could you kiss her(she is refering herself)"

Few days ago she told me"Could you kiss her like Momy kangru kissing Ro in her bed"(from one of the episodes of Winnie de Pooh. It really touched my heart.

She is waking up once with"Momy momy"Reha is going and she is again asking for called water or "could you find the bay's label"then "No no Oli find it " or "Could you take Oli to Momy's bed"

If it is before 6 am Reha is trying to convince her to stay in her crib and he is generally very good at it.If it is early in the morning aroung 6 am I go and bring her to our bed and she is nursing and sleeping another 1-2 hours more.

This morning it was 5:10 am when she called me.Reha went and did the whole rutine.She called me on and off until 5 :30 am and we decidec to take her.I went there and got her brought to our bed.Olivia turned to Reha and said with a crying voice " Dady ,Momy took Oli and brought to Momy's and Dady's bed. MOMY DID !" With a very strong DID and started morning nursing.

This picture is taken during our long summer vacation in Turkey.She is enjoying her "surprize "at the Cirali beach . Looks little tired after a long stay in the sea . Sun is about to set.

I DON'T WANT

I don't want dady sleeping on momy's lap.
I don't want car sit.
I don't want car-I want to take car off
I dont want dady coming with us ,I want take dady off (She wants my undivided attention)
I don't want momy sleeping ( When she wakes up in at night and Reha goes her room to sooth her.Reha is saying that Momy is sleeping and can nurse Oli again in the morning )
I don't want this playground ,let's go the other one.
I don't want this lady reading story ,I want the other one singing.( Story time in the library)
I don't want story time .Let's go home and have meme( nursing:-))))
I don't want wear socks.I don't want shoes.
I don't want you going to the market .Dady go you stay with Oli.

Introducing Emma

Last week I made this sock doll to Oli by using my wool socks .It took my 2 hours after Oli went to sleep.She sow it in the morning and loved , named her Emma( the girl that she met at the beach) right away as if she has been waiting for her.

I am planning to make another one may be a boy:-))

Once upon a time -Potty training

We had been on potty training on and off almost for month. We decided to stop it and give it a second try couple of months later .

First started with the toilet adaptor that Oli picked the color and didn't work.

Then we bought real potty -red one together came home decorated it with stickers togerher she looked excited.But really didn't want to sit on it by herself.

We watched almost all of the potty training videos together .Draw pictures -dady ,momy,oli on the potty .Even the famous sculpture on the potty. We made potty and Jashua (the boy using potty on the video) peeing in the potty with playdough.

She peed 2 times on the potty just after the naps. We have celebrated them by lighting candles,singing potty sont that I composed for Oli and eating choclate.

NO didn't work at all!!

She had big kid underwear with kitty on it -pull up with mermaid on it by -- NO didn't work!!

She said:

I don't like potty

Put it up there( on the top shelve of the closet)

I had an accident AGAIN

I want to pee here in my undrwear

I want to pee here in my kilot

I peed on the carpet-Momy clean it

I don't want peeing on the toilet

She did:

Threw red potty out of the bathroom and closed the door couple of times

Hold her pee-pee from 8 am to 4 pm and then peed on the carpet.

Hold her poo-poo all day long then pooped on her diaper as soon as I put it on for the night.

One day she said she peed in the potty called me to look at it.I looked it was dry and said-No you didn't it is not wet yet.Then she called me again to the bathroom 5 min later said she peed in the red potty.I went there yes it was little yet but didn't really look like a real one.I asked her so show me how she did it again.She opened the toilet cover ,soaked her hads in the water and get some with two hand and poured in her red potty.She was soo cute and lovely .I couldn't figure out what to say.I was really impressed with her solution too:-))))

Any way we stopped the process put her back to dieper again.She is not complaining at all!!
