Olivia has been taking art class for almost 1 year. It is 1 hour long and helping her a lot to sit concentrate ,focus I believe great way of breaking the rush of the day and meditation .An the most important thing ,she loves it. As soon as I park the car she is holding her drawing notebook and running to the class.She has started with Mr xu. as teacher then switched to MRS Julie.
She loves coloring.Some times before the bedtime instead of reading she wants to color. I am planning to put some of her art works in a frame.

Yesterday Olivia told me all about Martin Luther King JR.
"Mommy there is one guy who is not living any more ,but we still celebrate his birthday . In the old time black people were not allowed to go to same school,same restaurant even not allowed to drink water from the same fountain. Is it nice ? NO.One guy decided to change it .His name is Martin Luther King JR.
Can you believe that if if he hadn't changed the things, Hazel wouldn't have been be my class mate. And since you have some brown spots on your hands and I am all WHITE you wouldn't be able to live in the same house with me " :-)))
First time in my life I am being discriminated be my color and it is by my daughter :-))

Yesterday I was trying to explain to Olivia how I feel when she doesn't listen to my words and here is her respond:
"I know Mommy exactly how you feel.
If I were a grown up,I would've felt the same way to my daughter."
I felt validated and great right away :-)
Did we solve the problem of not-listening ?
I don't think so ....
